A ranked list of everything you want.

Priora is a small desktop app that does one thing well. It makes you put your wants in order, from the one that matters most down to the one that matters least, and then keeps that list in front of you.

Free, no account needed, and your list never leaves your machine.

The idea

A list that makes you choose

Most apps let everything sit at the same level of important, so nothing really is. Priora won't do that. When you add a want, you have to place it somewhere in the order. There is no neutral middle to hide things in. Over time the order itself becomes the useful part, because it shows you what you actually care about rather than what you meant to.

Drag anything into place
Grab a want and move it up or down. The number updates as you go.

Capture

Add a want in a few seconds

Type it, hit add, done. No projects to file it under, no tags, no due dates to fill in before you are allowed to save. The point is to get the thing out of your head and onto the list while you are still thinking about it. You can rank it properly later.

Just type and add
A single field at the top of the list. Nothing else gets in the way.

The record

Keep proof of what you pulled off

When something finally happens, you mark it done and it moves to your achieved list with the date attached. Over months it builds into a quiet record of the things you said you wanted and then actually got. It is worth looking at on the days when it feels like nothing is moving.

A dated log of wins
Each achieved want keeps the date it happened, oldest at the bottom.

Where it comes from

"Write down what you want. Be definite. Rank it in the order of its importance. Look at it every day."

It Works · R.H. Jarrett · 1926

Priora is built on a small book from 1926 called It Works. The idea in it is almost too plain to take seriously: decide what you want, be specific, put it in order of importance, look at it often, and don't talk it to death. Priora is that method turned into something you will actually open, instead of a folded piece of paper you lose in a drawer.

Questions

Things people ask

Will Priora come to macOS or Linux?+
Right now Priora is Windows only. It is built on Tauri, which can target macOS and Linux from the same codebase, so it is possible down the line. There is no firm date yet. If enough people ask for a Mac or Linux build, it moves up the list.
Is it really free?+
Yes. No trial, no paid tier hiding the useful features, no card required. Download it and use it. If that ever changes, anything you have already installed keeps working.
Do I need an account to use it?+
No. There is no sign up and no login. You open the app and start your list. Nothing about you gets sent anywhere because there is nowhere for it to go.
Where is my data stored?+
On your machine, in a local file. It does not sync to a server or live in the cloud. You can export your list to a JSON file at any time to back it up or move it to another computer.
How is this different from a to-do app?+
A to-do app is built for tasks you will do soon, usually with dates and reminders. Priora is for wants and longer-term goals, and its whole job is to make you rank them against each other. There is no neutral middle where everything is equally important. The order is the point.
Will it sync across my devices?+
Not automatically, by design. Priora keeps everything local. If you want your list on another machine, you export it from one and import it on the other. Built in cloud sync is not currently planned.
Is there a mobile version?+
Not yet. Priora is a desktop app first. The idea is that you sit down with your list now and then, rather than poke at it on your phone all day, so desktop fits the way it is meant to be used. A companion mobile view may come later.
How often is it updated?+
Priora is built and maintained by one person, so updates land when they are ready rather than on a fixed schedule. The aim is to keep it small and reliable, not to pile on features it does not need.
